Hi, I'm Adele! I'm the owner/designer/sewist behind Monkeys with Tulips. I live in Minnesota with my spouse, 3 children and 2 dogs. I was taught to sew starting around the age of 5 by my mom and have continued sewing since. This business grew out of me making clothes for my oldest child - I was tired of having to modify store bought to fit him and he also began to request things that were just not available in stores.

My Clothing

I believe that kids should have a say in what they wear and that their clothes should be made for play! Kids should be comfortable in what they wear, so my clothes are made with soft fabrics, are tagless (with a very few exceptions), the seams are serged with soft thread and top stitched appropriately. Details like pockets (who doesn't need somewhere to put their snack!), interesting print combinations and quirky appliques often make their way into my work. All items are made by me in my sewing studio/dungeon.
